Ronald A. Princic, 68, of Fairfield passed away at home under hospice care Wednesday, January 29, 2025 after a short battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Ronald was born September 10, 1956, to Albert and Virginia (Greszler) Princic. He was a graduate of Firelands High School Class of 1974, where he played high school football. After graduation, Ronald moved to Fairfield, Maine, where he joined Fairfield Center Fire Company #2 and met his wife, Audrey. They were married July 24, 1982 at the Methodist Church in Fairfield Center.
Ronald worked in the construction field for most of his life, being Co-Owner of Central Maine Siding from 1996-2008 and Ron’s Door Service from 2002 to his early retirement in 2012. Ron then worked part time with several people and contractors until October 2024, including with a dear friend, Derek Foster.
Ronald greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. He was on multiple bowling leagues through the 90’s. He was a part of the Fairfield Family Association for a period of time, enjoying operating a food wagon at softball games and tournaments. One of Ronald’s favorite things to do was to fill in as a volunteer umpire for his daughters’ PAL softball games.
He was predeceased by both parents, Albert and Virginia, grandson Tyler Bailey, and best friend, Steve Follansbee.
Ronald is survived by his wife Audrey Princic; daughter Sarah and her husband B.J. of Goose Creek, South Carolina; daughter Amanda and her partner Rob of Denmark, Maine; grandchildren Abby, Dakota, and Charley; his nephew, Troy, who always referred to him as ‘Uncle Dad’; and an extensive family/‘framily’, including his two sisters, Virginia Ritter and Linda Austin with husband Dave.
The family would like to extend gratitude to those who showed their love and support, especially during these past few months, and to Maine General Home Care and Hospice, who stepped in with loving care and assistance, providing peace and comfort.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, February 15th from 1-5 PM at the VFW Post on Main Street in Fairfield, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronald's name to the charity of one’s choice.
