Richard LeRoy Loabe

It is with enormous sorrow to tell you that My best friend, soulmate and husband of 61 years Richard L.Loabe passed away on January 21,2025 at Togus Va Hospice .

Richard was born on March 31,1943 the son of Wilmer Leroy Loabe and Dorothy Runyon Loabe in Trenton New Jersey.

He attended Ewing schools, graduating in June of 1961. Upon graduation he proudly joined the United States Navy. When he returned he was employed by U.S.Steel. He also was a Emergency Medical Technician and a fireman with Pennington Road Fire and Rescue. 
Upon moving to Maine he joined the Cornville Fire Department. Richard was also employed by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department, primarily in the jail where he earned the rank of Sergeant.

Richard was an avid fisherman and hunter all of his life.He was a wonderful husband, father, pop and great grandpa.  

He was predeceased by his mother and father, his sister Carol Driver, Brother in law William Driver and nephew William Driver.

Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faith, his daughter Elizabeth Loabe, his son Richard Loabe II and his wife Darcy. 
His grandchildren, Zieke Lucht and Hayden , Gavin Loabe, Riley Loabe, Chloe Rose Hoover, Lily Grace Hoover, Delaney White and his Great  granddaughter Nova Wren Lucht, his nephew Thomas Driver and wife Diane, his great nieces Emily,Victoria,Charlotte Driver. 
His great great niece Isabelle Driver, his Cousin and lifelong friend Lois Ann Johnson.

By his request there will not be a service.  

We would like to give a grateful thank you to his special caregiver and Friend Amanda Maison. You always went that extra mile to make him smile.

Also We would like to thank all the staff at Togus who took care of Richard. He received caring, gentle care on his journey.  
You all have a special place in Our hearts!  
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Central Maine Cremation.
