Nathalie "Bunny" Braley

Nathalie “Bunny” Braley, 88, of Newport, ME, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in the care of family in Belgrade, Maine. 

Nathalie was born on September 3, 1936, in North Newport, ME, to Leroy Eaton and Thelma (Boulier) Eaton. She was married to Wesley (Eugene) Braley, with whom she shared her life. Nathalie was an avid gardener who enjoyed tending several of her own gardens. She loved cooking for family and friends alike, most famously known and sought after for her dinner roll recipe. She was very fond of her small community and spent many of her mornings at McDonald’s to visit with friends and family. Her greatest feelings of pride were those of her son Gregory and her two grandsons, Matthew and McKinley, who were all there for her in her final moments. 

Towards the end, Nathalie had opted to move in with her son (Gregory Braley) and his wife (Penny Braley) to live out the last of her days as comfortably as possible. During her final days, she reminisced on fond memories of snowmobiling with friends, family, and being a longtime member of the Newport Snowmobiling Club. She is survived by her son, Gregory, and his wife, Penny of Belgrade, Grandsons, Matthew of Plymouth and McKinley of Portland. She is predeceased by her husband, Wesley “Eugene” Braley, her parents, and many aunts whom she cared for at the end of their lives. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Waterville Hospice nurse Cathy, as she was a true angel when Bunny needed it most. 

A celebration of life will be held at 47 Barrows Point Rd in Newport, Maine on May 18th from Noon-2pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed for the Kasey Lander's Memorial fund.
