Marjorie C Whipple, 87, of Skowhegan,Me. died unexpectedly at Eastern Maine Medical center, on Tuesday, February 17th 2026 in Bangor. She was born in Norwich, Connecticut on November 12th, 1938 to Nattie and Stasia (Cholodowski) Algiere. She grew up in Norwich where she attended Saint Joseph Catholic School at 120 Cliff Street, Norwich, Connecticut, and graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1956. She married Nelson (Dede) Whipple in 1957, and they shared 53 years together, while raising three children.
Marjorie worked as a telephone Operator over the years, both in Bangor, Me. and Uncas On Thames State of Ct. She also worked at Holdridge's in Ledyard Ct., along with working for MBNA New England in Belfast Me., where she received an reward for making a transaction for 1 million dollars.
Marjorie was preceded by her parents, and her spouse Dede in 2010. Surviving are her son's Richard (Cheryl) Whipple of Colchester Ct., and Nelson Jr. (Julie) Whipple of Canaan Me., and daughter Laurie (Harold) Wilber of Palmyra Me. Her five grandchildren are: Dean Wilber, Ashlee Brown, Rebecca Wilber, Sherry Woodworth and Sophia Whipple, along with 3 great-grandchildren. Her siblings are Maryann Rousseau, John (Kathy) Algiere,along with Aunt Clarice Greene, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving brothers-in-law Fred (Judy) Whipple and Curt Whipple.
Marjorie will be remembered for her love of her family, and spending time with them. She was an artist who did watercolor paintings. She also loved music, her flowers, her gardening and her pet cat Precious. A special thanks to Amy Norton who gave her love and care over the last 6 years of Marjorie's life, so Marjorie could remain in her apartment in Skowhegan.
A Memorial mass will be held on May 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Skowhegan, Burial will take place in the springtime. May she rest in peace.
