WELLINGTON, MAINE — Loyd Almon Brazier, 77, of Wellington, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, after a lifetime defined by perseverance, hard work, devotion to family, and an unmatched stubbornness that carried him through challenges that would have defeated most.

Born on July 26, 1948, Loyd was the son of the late Almon and Florence Brazier. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a love for rural life that remained with him throughout his years.

Loyd proudly served his country in the United States Army, including active duty service during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected the courage, resilience, and determination that would become hallmarks of his character.

A lifelong farmer and outdoorsman, Loyd found great joy in farming, draft horse pulling, and spending time with family. He especially cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable pride and happiness.

Those who knew Loyd knew him as one of the most stubborn men they had ever met—a trait that served him well throughout his life. He was a survivor in every sense of the word, overcoming multiple battles with cancer and numerous other health challenges that would have done the average man in. Time and again, he met adversity head-on, refusing to quit and continuing to live life on his own terms.

Loyd is survived by his beloved wife, Christine (Beaulieu) Brazier; his cherished grandson, Carter Everett-Larson, affectionately known as “Peanut Boy”; his granddaughter and caregiver, Katie Fournier, and her fiancé, Josh Rotenberry; his daughter and caregiver, Tina Everett, and her partner, Jason Wesson; his son, Cassius Everett, and his wife, Kelsey Everett; his stepsons, Clifford Fournier and Francis Fournier; his sister, Doreen (Brazier) Cane; and many additional family members, friends, neighbors, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He is also survived by his favorite dog, Cici (aka Cecelia Jane). 

Loyd’s family would like to extend special gratitude to those who helped care for him throughout his later years, allowing him to remain surrounded by the people and place he loved most. Special thanks to the wonderful nurses on Unit 3South at the VA Togus hospital (especially Jen) and the patient Maine General Hospice team that supported the family in his final days.

Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, his strength, determination, humor, and unwavering love for his family will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
