Cheryl L. Bennett, 66, of Palmyra, Maine, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025 in Bangor, Maine. She was born on April 2, 1959, in Bangor, Maine, Cheryl was the beloved daughter of Vernon Hopkins and Eleanor Austin.
Cheryl lived a full and vibrant life, filled with a deep love for her family and a passion for the things that brought her joy. She was known for her warm heart, her fiery spirit, and her love of the outdoors. Cheryl found happiness in harness racing, stock car and barrel racing, and camping trips that brought her closer to nature and those she loved. She was always up for a game of poker or Yahtzee, especially when it meant time spent laughing with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Bennett; her parents, Vernon and Eleanor Hopkins; her sister Debbie; her nephew Heath; and her precious great-granddaughter Brooklyn.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted children: Lisa Burnham and her husband Jerry of Gorham; Joe Bennett and his wife Jess of Casco; Rhonda Huff and her husband Nick of Windham; Jack Hopkins and his wife Jen of Brewer; and Ronnie Bennett Jr. and his wife Paula of Plymouth. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, brothers Charlie and Dudy, sister Carlene and her dearest friends Harlen, Kathie, and Val.
She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kayla, Kassie, Chelsea, Jerry Jr., Derrick, Lily, Emmy, Steven, Brittany, and Nick; as well as her eight adored great-grandchildren.
Cheryl’s legacy of love, laughter, and strength lives on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A funeral service for Cheryl will be held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Bible Baptist Church in Plymouth.
